How does AI scanning work?

Simply take a photo of your items using the ScanJunk app. Our AI technology analyzes the image to identify what you have and provides an instant price estimate. You can take up to 5 photos to capture items in different areas. The AI combines everything into one accurate estimate.

What items do you accept?

We accept: Furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, yard waste, construction debris, carpets, and general household junk.

We don't accept: Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals), medical waste, firearms, ammunition, explosives, asbestos, or radioactive materials. If you're unsure, just scan it and we'll let you know!

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing is based on the type, size, and weight of your items. Our AI analyzes your photos to estimate the volume and material type. The price you see in the app is your upfront estimate. Final pricing is confirmed on-site but will not exceed the estimate by more than 20% without your approval.

Can I cancel or reschedule my pickup?

Yes! You can cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a fee of up to 50% of the estimated cost. To cancel or reschedule, use the app or contact us directly.

What areas do you serve?

We currently serve the Central Valley area including Stockton, Tracy, Manteca, Lathrop, Lodi, and Ripon. Enter your address in the app to check if we service your area. We're expanding to new areas regularly!

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app by going to Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete All My Data. Alternatively, email us at [email protected] with "Delete My Data" in the subject line. We'll process your request within 30 days.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, as well as Apple Pay. Payment is securely processed after your pickup is completed.

Do I need to be home during pickup?

You or someone you designate should be available during the 2-hour pickup window. If items are accessible (e.g., at the curb or in an unlocked area), you can provide access instructions in the app. Please ensure any gates are unlocked and pets are secured.
